Modified indirect rotor field‐oriented control strategies for wye‐connected three‐phase induction motor drives under an open‐phase fault

Abstract Field‐oriented control (FOC) has been broadly used as an accurate method for electric drives. The traditional FOC approach effectively developed to 3‐phase induction motor (3φ IM) drive systems in recent decades. Despite the usefulness of methods during normal condition, these strategies are unable a wye‐connected 3φ IM y ) under stator winding open circuit fault (SWOCF). This paper discusses modified indirect rotor (FOC IR drives SWOCF. stationary reference frame (RF) model is presented and utilized develop vector faulty using asymmetrical transformations. also propose against SWOCF based on symmetrical/traditional transformation bi‐voltage controller. performances confirmed via simulations experiments considering achieved results show effectiveness drive.
